Caring for Designer Clothes

Designer clothes are an expensive investment. Thus, if you buy some, you should take good care of them. Here are some guidelines on how to extend the life of these costly garments. First, lessen the frequency of wearing them because numerous uses will weaken the clothes’ fibres. Thus, you should use them only on special occasions. Next, when washing them, do not use excessive force. Dirt and sweat residue can be removed with gentle washing. Also, have your designer clothes dry cleaned regularly, preferably once per week. That is because the materials used in constructing these items require a superior cleaning regimen.

Air-dry your designer apparel inside out after washing. Never use a dryer because the heat fades the colours and damages the fibres. When storing your outfits, place them in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area. To avoid permanent wrinkles and crease lines in the material, do not fill the closet to its full capacity. In addition, separate your designer clothes from the rest of your items with one inch of space between hangers. Finally, to keep moths from damaging your designer clothes, place cedar blocks or moth balls in your closet.
